MBA under the Management Quota
Taking admission in MBA under the Management Quota is simpler than regular admission. Students need to fill the online application form for admission to an MBA program under the Management Quota. While the application process varies as per college and institution, the main procedure is concerned with the initial registration and application, submission of admission form, fee and securing the seat. Students can further contact the specific university counsellors for specific processes of the admission and for clarifying their queries.
Along with the submission of the admission form, students are also supposed to submit their required documents like the marksheets and certificates from grade 10th or 12th, passport size photo, Bachelor’s degree and marksheet, personal identity verification document and other documents.
Reservation for NRI or PIO Applicants
Many private universities offer reserved seats for direct MBA admissions to NRI or PIO applicants without entrance exams. B-schools or other AICTE/UGC-recognised universities keep some seats reserved for such candidates. These students can visit the site of the universities or can talk to the academic counsellors of the universities to know the details of the admission process.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
⭐ What are the advantages of direct MBA admission?
The major advantage of taking direct MBA admission is that you don’t have to prepare for any entrance exams or go through the hassles of qualifying the multiple selection rounds of MBA admission. Students who cannot devote much time to prepare for entrance exams or have other commitments can easily go for this option. It is a good choice for working professionals as well.
⭐ Who can apply for direct MBA admissions?
Students need to check the eligibility criteria of different universities to apply for the direct MBA. Generally, students need to make sure that they have scored at least 50% in their Bachelor’s program from a recognised institution. Candidates from any stream can usually take admission in an MBA program.
⭐ Is the fee of a direct MBA more than a regular MBA?
If you are a student who is seeking direct admission in an MBA program through the management quota, then yes, the course fee is more than a regular MBA. But if you are seeking direct admission in an MBA program in online mode, its fee is much lower than the regular MBA course.
⭐ Is it possible to get admission in an MBA directly without entrance?
If you are seeking admission in an MBA course in the regular mode, it might be tough to locate such colleges, whether in the private or public sectors, since most regular MBA colleges require the candidate to have a valid entrance score at the national, state or institutional level.
However, if you search for a college or institute offering an MBA in the online mode or open distance learning (ODL) mode, you can find a variety of reputed institutes conducting admissions to the course without an entrance score criteria.
⭐ Is there any difference in curriculum or degree between direct MBA and regular MBA?
No, there are no significant differences between the curricula of a direct MBA (i.e. an online/distance MBA) and a regular MBA. In fact, the credibility of the degrees received by students at the end of these two courses is also the same, as mandated by UGC-DEB. The curricular structure in both the cases consist of 4 semesters divided into introductory foundational courses followed by specialisation-based courses and dissertation/capstone projects.
