The XLRI conducts Xavier Aptitude Test every year on behalf of XAMI every year. The exam is an all India level entrance test which is held for selection in various PGDM programs such as PGDM in Business Management, PGDM in Human Resource Management, etc. offered by XLRI, Jamshedpur and various other management programs offered by 150+ B-schools. Since the year 2022 the entrance exam has been shifted to online mode. The entrance test is held on the first Sunday of January every year. - Application Fee: The application fee has been revised from Rs. 1650/- to Rs. 1700/- from this year onwards in 2022.
- Duration of Test- In 2022 exam will be conducted in 3 hours duration. As last year the exam duration was 3:35 hours.
- Examination Centre- The exam will be held across 46 cities in India except Agartala.
- Structure of Examination: As now the exam has four sections. They are Verbal and Logical Ability (VA & LR), Decision Making (DM), Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation (QA & DI), General Knowledge (GK). Essay writing section has been removed.
Qualification Criteria
- Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or Institute. The minimum duration of the program has to be three years.
- Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply provided they complete the program within the given time, which is most likely to be by June 2020.
- Limitation of Age – There is no restriction of age limit to apply.
- Eligibility for NRI/Foreign candidates – NRI or foreign national candidates have to apply through GMAT marks. Candidates from Dubai or Nepal are exempted from applying through GMAT marks will be conducted in these two international cities.
Application Procedure:
- Candidates would need to enter their basic information like name and contact details.
- They will receive the login credentials through which they have to log in to the website and complete the application process.
- To complete the application process, candidates would need to enter the personal details, academic details, and professional details with upload photograph and signature.
- Lastly, the final step is paying the application fee.
- Application process is conducted in two stages, ‘Early’ and ‘Late’ application stage. The application fee for the late stage is higher than that of the original one. (Direct admission in top MBA colleges accepting XAT score)
Fee for Application:
The application fee is Rs. 1700 (without late fee). The application received after the deadline should include the late application fee of Rs. 2000/-For each candidates need to pay an additional fee of Rs. 300. The late applications would be charged Rs. 500/-For late application, the application fee for this programme is Rs. 2000 and Rs. 500 respectively. Modes of Payment:
The mode is online mode. Candidates need to pay the fee online through Credit Cards, Debit Cards/Master Cards, and Internet Banking.
Pattern of examination:
The test will be a computer-based test (online) of 180 minutes duration. The exam comprises of four sections, namely VA & LR, DM, QA & DI, and GK. The official exam pattern 2022 has removed the essay writing from 2022 exam pattern. The following table explains the exam pattern in 2022 For Reasoning Part: Vocabulary, Analogy-based on vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Sentence correction, Grammar, Fill in the blanks, Paragraph Formation Questions, Poem, etc. For Decision Making Part: Arithmetic, Analytical Reasoning, Situational, etc. For QA & DI: Percentage, Profit & Loss, Time & Distance, Time & Work, Equations, Polynomials, Numbers, Progressions, Probability, Permutation and Combination, Data Sufficiency, Scatter Plots and Bar Charts, etc. For GK: History, Currency, Invention, Geography, National Capital, Culture, Books and authors, Personalities, Important Dates, Films, Science and Business, Current affairs, etc.

Marking Process:
Each question will carry 1 mark and for each wrong answer, 1/4th is the penalty for wrong answers. There is negative marking of 0.05 marks also involved for attempted questions as well, beyond 8.
Examination Centers:
The exam was conducted in 46 cities across India and two international cities. The number of exam centers this year is expected to be more or less the same of the previous year.
