Qualification criteria for high ranked management institutes:
Though a few Institutions look for higher percentages in the qualifying examination and a consistently good background, the minimum requirements for almost all institutes are, either:
- A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in any discipline (those appearing final examination are eligible), with at least 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved categories).
- Applicants with a post-graduate qualification having at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) in either their Bachelor’s or post-graduate degrees.
Overall structure of management examinations:
The management entrance exams are designed to test the students’ ability to make tough decisions, aptitude and general awareness. Most examinations are objective type tests and provide the students with four options to choose from. However, a few examinations such as the XAT also have an essay component, which tests the student’s writing ability. The structure of the exam is usually as follows:

- Almost all of the exams in the country have variations including the five components, and different tests focus on different components.
