The biggest and most popular competitive examination of India, CAT is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM). CAT scores are used for selecting the candidate by 20 IIMs and various other B-Schools across the country. More than two lakh students appear for the exam each year.

CAT mainly consists of 4 parts, which include Verbal, Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning. All these parts are clubbed into three sections – Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC), Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR).

MAT (Management Aptitude Test)

Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a national level Master in Business Administration competitive exam conducted by AIMA (All India Management Association) to offer joining to different B-SCHOOL programmes. MAT is also one of the most popular Masters in Business Administration competitive exam. More than 600 institutes accept MAT scores for joining to B-School programmes. Candidates appearing for the exam are mainly tested for these 5 areas

XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)

XAT is another top Master in Business Administration competitive exam conducted by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur. Every year, around one Lakh students, appear for the XAT. Traditionally, each year, XAT is conducted on the first Sunday of January. More than 100 B-School accepts the joining of the students on the basis of their XAT score.

XAT is based mainly on four sections which include – Quantitative Ability, Decision Making, English Language and Logical Reasoning, and GK and Essay. However, GK and Essay test are conducted only after students get shortlisted for XLRI courses.

Though registration for the GMAT is allowed throughout the year, candidates can appear for the test only up to 5 times in a single year.
